Topic #4: Countries/Culture - Jack :]

Not entirely sure what to put here but I'll give it a go,
Around the world there are different places... (No sugar Sherlock)
They all are different, and all have their own cultures and stuff,
When I think of culture, first thing that comes to my mind is food (Says a lot about me? )
For example, a typical/classic English meal,
Chips

Fish

Chinese...
The world has multiple countries and continents and stuff like that, and I, like Shannon, don't even know many of them...but they all have there own cultures and lifestyles, and they all interest me, and sometimes disgusts me, but that's not racist, that's an opinion :P

Because I used pictures, and a picture is worth a thousand words, enjoy my essay ;).
Until next time,
- Jack :]

Topic #4: Countries/Culture - Georgia :?

Hey

This will be short tonight because I have 101 things to do, but I'll update it in a day or two.

Okay, so countries and culture, a very broad topic, so kinda hard to post about.
Anyway, I find culture fascinating, the way that when you go abroad, even just to somewhere like France or Holland, the way they live day to day is so much different, it seems even stranger in places like this because they aren't even that far away from us, so in the space of maybe and hour in a plane, you go into a totally changed lifestyle system. So going somewhere in another continent, would probably be even more of a contrast to our miserable, grey weathered days in Britain.

I like the way people all over the world speak different languages, and when I'm talking to someone who's first language is English, I always ask myself whether they're thinking in English or their language, and it puzzles me constantly. Even when I'm talking to someone who does speak English as their primary language, I wonder if the way they say words in their head is different to mine but I just hear them the way I imagine them. I know this is really random, but hey.

That is all I can do at the moment, I will update it though.

Topic #4: Countries/Culture - Shannon ;)

bit of a crap topic but my idea was stolen so i just chose this because its something im interested in.
so dont moan.
ive decided im not going to base my post on just one culture. im just going to talk about them in general.
so, culture and languages and shiz is what i want to revolve my career around when im older :)
i love learning about how different people in different countries live and i love learning new languages and being able to communicate with them.

oh hi, i love asian people,
expecially the two right here in the hiz-house! ;D
i find their culture really cool and creative.

anyway, when im older i want to travel the world so i can actually see (hey look its in italics!) other peoples' way of life in different countries.
is everyone else thinking that im talking a load of rubbish and that you dont agree at all?

our different cultures are one of the things that make us unique - and i dont mean that in a racist way, i mean it in a good way, because if everyone had the same culture then it would be kinda boring. :/
Africans live differently to Asians, who live differently to Europeans, who live differently to the people of the other continents that i cant remember the names of.
we're all humans, but i think the way we live life different just because we come from a particular country is so
cooooool :) but thats probably just me..

asif this is my own topic and ive run out of things to say.
oh well, heres to hoping everyone else will do what they can with this topic. i'll try to be more interesting next time :)
byebye!xxxxxx
p.s, sorry for the amount of times i said the word 'different' in this post - thesaurus.com was down for maintenance :'(

Topic #3: Fakeness - Shannon ;)

define fake:
georgia shanahanahanahanahanhanahanahan.

hehe, joke ;)

erm, i think people can be fake through the way the look but also in their personality. if someone has a fake personality its like when they try to be someone they're not or change around certain people. this really annoys me because i want to choose my friends for who they are and not who they want to be. and even sometimes it fails for them because they try too hard to be like the 'popular'(-i hate that term) people and it shooows.

when people are fake through the way they look it means they usually look something like this:

lol^
isnt she just so beautiful..

ive got to go now because everyone's moaning at me.

Topic #3: Fakeness - Lilly :D

'Fakeness'. This a very broad topic and I'm quite suprised that everybody has done practically the same thing. And now i am going to do that as well :) Except I have a different view point of all this...

I'm pretty sure that everybody that has posted so far will say that they support anti-racism, equality, not judging people by their appearance and all that :) But that isn't what their posts have come across as :/ To me their posts are all basically slagging people off who look a certain way. I don't have a problem with the look that is classed as 'fake'. Why should they be thought less of just by their fashion sense? So what if they have platinum blonde hair? So what if they're 'orange'? You shouldn't judge them purely by the way they look... People say they look like barbie dolls, trying to be perfect but you can't blame them for that really can you? I mean when you were little a barbie doll was sold as the image of perfection really wasn't it?
They could be genuinely nice people but a lot of people will automatically say that they look fake and have fake personalities too. I really don't get how you can just categorize people and supposedly know exactly how they are going to be just by the way they look, i know that it is a common human behaviour but i was quite suprised at some of the people that have said similar stuff to this this week in their posts :/ And a lot of them have said stuff about plastic surgery and i do agree with Ciara's point that she made yesterday about how it should be used to help people with life endangering deformities etc. and i think that plastic surgery is abused in a way by people changing themselves when there is nothing wrong with them but stuff like that is going to happen in life, no brainer really....
And yeah i don't have much else to say on the topic of 'fake' appearances, but people have also said somethings about people acting 'fake'. And i think that is quite debatable really :/ Well, because in a way i could be classed as an extremely 'fake' person, because if I'm angry at someone or annoyed with them or upset (or any emotion that is classed as negative) i won't let on, and how I'll never tell anyone what i really think of them or just thinking because i don't want to offend anyone and i believe that that is really the right thing to do because 'if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything'. I've heard my mum say this many a time to my brothers and i think it's right. So am i being a two faced bitch or a polite person?? And that's all i have to say really...

Topic #3: Fakeness - Georgia :?

Hey :)Oh my gosh, week 3 already?

So I was thinking pretty hard about what this weeks topic should be, and I realised that all the time these days, you see people that are just so blatantly fake. Fake hair, nails, bodies, skin, personality, the lot.
I guarantee you every day I see at least one girl who is meant to be white, but they're orange.
Why?
Is it insecurity? Or trend following? I don't understand it, why would you want to look like a mango with fluorescent pink talons as nails, and white - I mean 'Platinum blonde' hair?
I think that cake on so much makeup are almost just hiding themselves away because they're insecure, but then I guess I really don't know, because I don't do it, I don't have a reason to.

But it isn't just people's appearances that come across as fake, you get the people that are 'best mates' with everyone, but then bitch about them to everyone else, who are also their 'best mates'

I think people should really just be happy with what they've got, because 9 out of 10 times the people who are fake are so much nicer to be around without all the makeup, fake tan, bleached hair and the rest of the fakeness, they just don't want to look different to anyone else. But that really defeats why we all look different, which we are meant to be.
We're not supposed to be orange, and our hair shouldn't belong to some other person that is stuck in with glue. We're meant to look the way we look without all the trimmings, it makes us interesting, and not walking barbie dolls.

Anyway, enough of my rant about fakeness, it's your turns now :)
I know this probably isn't a very good subject but hey, It's my week to choose so that is what I have chosen.

Topic #2: Music - Georgia :?

Hey :)
This is just really short but I'm fixing it and making it longer tomorrow!

Music plays a big part in my life, and it sounds cheesy and typical but music always reminds me of stuff that has happened in the past etc.
I sometimes hear songs that bring back memories good and bad,  but even when they're bad, I still like the particular song or artist, just not the memory.

I generally don't listen to the music that's 'in' really, pretty much no one in this blog thing does ;)
I prefer stuff that is well, good, because it's actually real music that isn't from people that don't sing and have auto tune as their voice instead - which irritates me greatly. :)
Mostly I listen to stuff like this:
  • Jamie T
  • You Me At Six
  • Lenka
  • Amy Winehouse
  • Colbie Caillat
  • Emma's Imagination
  • Never Shout Never
  • Regina Spektor
  • Plain White T's
  • Mindy Gledhill
  • Far East Movement
  • Laura Marling
  • Remi Nicole
  • All Time Low
  • Jack Johnson
  • Kids In Glass Houses
  • Lady Gaga
  • Frankmusik
  • Kate Nash
  • Arctic Monkeys
  • Paloma Faith
  • Marina And The Diamonds
  • Lily Allen
  • Katy Perry
  • The Fratellis
  • Eliza Doolittle
  • Friendly Fires
  • Jason Mraz
  • I Blame Coco
  • The Maccabees
  • The Wombats
  • Biffy Clyro
  • Noah And The Whale
 - And more but my mind is blank right now :)

I think that without music, I would struggle to relate how I felt to anything else, but when you hear a song and you can relate to how you feel, it makes you feel like the person singing the song is aiming it right at you.

I find it so annoying when you mention a band or artist and then someone acts like they're the biggest fans but when you start talking about a song of theirs that isn't in the UK top 40 or whatever, they know nothing about it. Maybe that's just me?

Anyway, I can't get much more down for now, but it might become longer in the future.
